'Evolution: Horse in the Making' is the first of 4 mini-modules which make up 'The Behaviour & Welfare Series'. You can complete it as a stand-alone course or sign up to further mini-modules to complete the Series.

In this mini-module, we will use evidence-based information to explore the behavioural relevance of:
* evolution & adaptation
* evolutionary ancestors of the modern horse
* anatomy & physiology
* the equine senses
* cognition & perception
* equine communication

As part of the mini-module, you will undertake a group Theory Day, a home-study section and a marked assignment.
You will need to have use of a computer and access to the internet for the home-study element.

You will receive an Attendance Certificate for each Theory Day you attend and The Behaviour & Welfare Series Achievement Certificate upon passing all 4 mini-modules. Complete the 4-part Series and receive complementary membership of the Why Do Horses Club, where you can access free Masterclasses and other exciting resources!

The 4 mini-modules in the complete Behaviour & Welfare Series are:
1) Evolution: Horse in the Making
2) The Modern Horse: Behaviour & Management
3) Through the Lens: Monitoring & Recording Behaviour
4) In Practice: Welfare & Ethics

For more info see our website: www.whydohorses.com
If you have any queries, please do get in touch: hello@whydohorses.com

You don't have to sign up to all four mini-modules and you don't even have to complete them in order. However, for you to get the best out of the Series, we recommend that you undertake them one by one, in the order shown above.

The course content is pitched at around Level 3 (which is similar to A Levels) but it is a short course so there is much less work to complete. We're aware that many of our Learners have not engaged in any equine behaviour courses before and so we set the course material accordingly.
