Sid and Otter Valley Riding Club are pleased to host this One Day Event in the grounds of Poltimore House. We hope that it will be an encouraging and fun event, with the aim that everyone can get round and go home with a smile, and maybe a ribbon.

Depending on entries, classes may be split. The organisers have the right to combine or separate classes.

Times and Results will be published online at ridingclubresults.co.uk by 8pm on Thursday 7th August.

Dressage tests can be found by here: www.bhs.org.uk/british-riding-clubs/competitions/brc-downloads/brc-tests/

Rules and Regulations
Anyone in attendance will be bound by the BRC Code of Conduct. This event will be run under British Riding Club Rules, which are available on the British Riding Clubs website, with the following exceptions:

Show Jumping:
The course will not be timed for all classes.

If a competitor is eliminated in the showjumping (unless by a technicality), or has 24 faults or more, the combination will only be permitted to ride on the country course at the discretion of the organisers.

Cross Country:
Class 1a only – riders may be led or assisted.
The course will not be timed for all classes. 3 refusals at 1 fence or 4 in total on the XC will result in elimination. The combination will only be allowed to continue at the discretion of the organisers.

The judge's decision is final.

Horses and Riders:
Minimum age of horse to be 5 years old. No horse/pony to compete in more than one class.
All competitors must ensure that they have adequate/appropriate insurance for themselves, horses, property and third party.
Long hair must be tied up. Any competitor’s number obscured by their hair risks elimination.
No jewellery.
Current whip rules apply. Excessive use of the whip will result in elimination, the rider being instructed to dismount and walk back to the lorry park
Only fences marked in the warm-up area may be jumped.
No cantering/galloping outside of the warm-up areas.
The organisers/landowners are not responsible for any accidental damage or loss to competitors, horses or spectators however caused.

On the day, you will need to bring your hat and body protector to the secretary’s tent for checking and to
declare your entry. You will not be allowed to ride until you have declared. A body protector with the BETA Level 3 2018 BLUE label MUST be worn for the XC phase. Riders are responsible for ensuring they have the correct standard body protector. (Note: a body protector with the BETA
Level 3 2009 Purple Label will NOT BE ALLOWED on the xc course) The only exception to this is for Exo-Body cages, in which the BETA Level 3 2009 Purple Label will continue to be accepted – anyone wearing an Exo-Body Cage MUST notify the secretary on collection of their number.

Anyone mounted must wear a hard hat with chin strap fastened at all times,
All hats must comply with current BRC standard. No fixed peak hats will be allowed for the XC phase of this
event. For up-to-date hat rules please see the current BRC Handbook.

Large number, eventing style bibs will be required for all three phases, you can print your number from Riding Club Results once the times have
been released. There will be no pre-printed numbers available.

Results will only be deemed final and complete 30mins after the last result of the class being posted. Scoresheets, rosettes and prizes will not be able to be collected prior to this.

We will endeavour to hold presentations outside of the secretary’s tent as soon as possible thereafter.

Cancellations
In the event of a full event cancellation, we will refund all competitors, less £7.50 to cover costs.

Withdrawals
Withdrawals made prior to the closing date will be refunded, less an admin fee of £10 to cover our costs for using Stripe and Equo (this does not include your booking fee paid to Equo). Withdrawals made after the closing date will NOT be refunded. We may accept replacement horses and riders, but no refund will be issued.
